The victims will have to relive this nightmare again Barbara, by talking to this person? Do you know how many times elders have made a victim repeat what took place, and describe every date, detail and violation? The suffering inflicted in the name of "procedure", the perpetrators were allowed to steamroll the emotional and unstable victims, until a brave elder would say "Enough!" This mock courtroom would continue as the brothers said "we will look for more evidence" only to call the victim and perp back into the same room! No credibile therapist would ever allow a victim and perp to be in the same room, while the perp tears the victim to pieces, defends his actions, only to gain sympathy votes on among the BOE. To anyone who experienced sexual abuse, go to the Police, do not tell the elders, do not tell the Society, Go to the Police, let the police talk to the Elders and Society first!
What is there was a brother who did not know how to handle these kinds of situations? What if he covered them up, down played the potential emotional affects, and was pulled out of the field after his blunders? If he kept his head down long enough, could he be fast tracked to the top, is this a posible theory?

@soft+gentle: I know what you are talking about, I never felt comfortable with this concept, we are suppose to let Jesus provide us with the "Well done, good and faithful slave! or his other saying "we did what we ought to have done, we are good for nothing slaves!(He wanted humility, not self-praising servants!)", I know the Watchtower uses this to qualsh and backlash from unpopular judical decessions. The set the bar up high, so a good little publisher won't challenge a "glorious one", lest they be accused of murmering or blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. They print everything for a reason! I was thinking of this when I wrote this thread, knowing some do think they shine like the Sun!

I never claimed to be a marriage counselor, a sex therapist or "Suicide Hot-line Specialist", and I can bet you, most of the other brothers never saw themselves as anything more than human. Some will say "He must be of the annointed, he is to nice to be of the Great Crowd?", really, I thought Jesus was the King who judged our hearts and position in his Kingdom.
I have sat with men who really needed someone to talk to, three hours of listening to a monologue, how the Congregation will change once "I am made a Elder", the only thing that changed was your ego, it grew really big! Here is another simpleton statement "I can't wait to be on judical comittees and hear all the dirt the friends have soiled themselves with" His attitude changed after his first year of receiving 3am Adultry and Fornication confessions, he was only a man and you can only handle knowing so much about the brothers and sisters sexual problems!
Just pause and remember, your brothers are human like yourself, they are not any closer to Jehovah than you are, He promises He will listen to your prayer. Don't act like the COs or DOs are holy, they are company men from the Watchtower Society, their job is to make sure your "Ring Leaders" elders are keeping their little circus functional! If a brother claims to have special insights from Jesus, you are commanded by the Bible to test this inspired expression and see if it orignates from God. This applies to Elderettes as well, they are nothing but women, nothing more and nothing less!

Brother T. worked with his child, family business, disfellowshiped three times, he's been out for twenty years now. Brother T. could be Blondie's example of the elder calling to visit his child, under the guise of business (A Sunday Evening BBQ, Beer And Accounting Session). Sister J has her daughter come to visit (and stays herself for two weeks!), she was disfellowshiped thirty years ago, and her grandkids need to visit grandma. Brother T. and Sister J. have no sympathy for the disfellowshiped daughter with cancer, who comes to live with her weak Mom. They tag team "Weak Mom" together, reminding her she is not obeying Jehovah by allowing her sick daughter to stay with her. The remind her "a little leaven, one bad apple spoils a barrell." how she is falling short of the faithful Slaves standards.
I don't mind if people talk to who they want to, it's horrible when they judge you for doing the same as they are, except you are honest and candid, where they are devious liars, FRAUDS!
i am liking don's term "captive to a concept" more and more, it explains so much about the mindset of average dubs.. to those who are being activily shunned, how does it affect you when you see former friends and family, do the sideway's crab-walk to get away?
you are not alone, shunning is happening to weaker witnesses in the congregations, this practice is not sanctioned by the watchtower society, this trait is straight from satan the devil, it pure evil and cruel!

@Phizzy: We had the District Overseer and Circuit Overseer rag on brothers and sisters who were "causing servere elder and ministerial servant imbalances by not attending the meetings they are suppose to attend." In San Luis Obispo County, we have "Hall Shuffler's" "Dine and Dasher's" "Hit and Run Couples" "The Circuit Overseer Told Us To Move Into This Hall (In Reality he said, Go attend the Hall You are assigned to!) Families that move out before the month is up. The official policy is to be at the Kingdom Hall your territory has you in, this does not work, because elders in our area, have been jumping all over the Southern part of the County. Word has it they are ready to bunker down with the congregation they feel will help them endure the upcoming Great Tribulation. This "musical chairs Kingdom Hall" switching is nothing new, once a year we have a huge movment take place, people find out the friends in the other Halls, "Smell, feel, talk and treat you the same" as your previous Hall. Same old people, same old crap, just a different building with different frowning faces!
The quickest way you can remove yourself from this elderette, is to tell her, you have postpardom depression, anxiety or some other kind of issue that is starting to plague the Watchtower's Societies Happiest People On Earth. @ Notjustyet: I am going to get Don's book, I need more insight, even though I have seen, experienced and watched men trap their fellow men, like the "bird catchers". Our former family is "captive to this concept", what is going to fill the void once they figure this out? A 180 degree movement, and I am thinking they are truly lost, Jehovah has shut his book on them and they don't know what to do. @Shamus we have to be careful throwing those numbers around. I explained on my Welfare-Disability-Public Dole thread, some Ex-JWs were claiming up to 100 percent of Jehovah's Witnesses were mentally ill, and in Canada almost all were collecting Welfare. This statistic transfers to this thread, if her lies about every Jehovah Witness and ExJW are propagated, you will be accused as being mentally ill and lazy, Guilty By Association!
In fact, her hasty generalization and unprovable statistics are condemming everyone on JWN as lazy and mentally diseased! I can't find the blog of the Anti-Canadian-JW with all her sewage, but I am sure more will pop up to take her place. We have to watch how we are cutting with this two-edge sword my friend!

Metatron, this is happening with parents whose children are elders and pioneers. Shunning is becoming very popular in these Last Days of the Organization! Confusion is rampant, people are becoming more unstable, ungrateful and wicked, while the Branches have moved to Defcon 3 (Move all cash into liquid investments, turn the Watchtower Society into a mutated spider corperation, and unplug the Bat-Phone!)
